Kenyan TV Host Denies Accusations of Gay Relationship with Male Make-Up Artist
Kenyan TV host and radio presenter, Oga Obinna, has been caught in the middle of a controversy after being accused of being in a gay relationship with a male make-up artist, Johnny the Hairdresser.
Obinna has vehemently denied these claims and has taken to social media to express his innocence.
The accusations come at a time when there is an ongoing debate in Kenya regarding the legal status of the LGBTQ community.
The United States government has announced that it will continue to support the LGBTQ community, while several Kenyan leaders, including President William Ruto, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, have taken a stance against it.
President William Ruto has called for a review of the Supreme Court ruling that favoured the LGBTQ community, while Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has referred to their actions as “demonic.”
Meanwhile, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has stated that the constitution of Kenya recognizes relationships only between a man and a woman.
This controversy has sparked a conversation about the rights and acceptance of the LGBTQ community in Kenya.

While some Kenyans support the community’s right to love whomever they want, others believe that their lifestyle is immoral and goes against traditional values.
It remains to be seen how this controversy will affect Oga Obinna’s career and public perception, but it is clear that the conversation surrounding the LGBTQ community in Kenya is far from over.
